Background
Nutrition Australia ACT is exploring the development of hands-on healthy cooking classes for Seniors. The cooking classes will be delivered by an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) in the Nutrition Australia Food Skills Kitchen at Chifley Health Hub.
We are considering running a seasonal series of cooking classes once per week over an 8-week period each season. An 8-week seasonal menu will be developed in advance, featuring recipes for each class. Participants will be able to view the recipe theme ahead of time, and book and pay online for the sessions they are most interested in.
The anticipated cost for each 90-minute class is $88 per person (in GST).
The aims of the program are to:
✅ Support healthy ageing by eating well
✅ Build confidence and practical cooking skills
✅ Support participants to prepare healthy meals at home
At each session participants will:
• Cook, eat and enjoy two meals in a small-group environment (maximum 8 participants)
• Receive a take-home recipe booklet
• Receive nutrition advice and tips to eat well when aging
We would love to hear your thoughts so we can design a program that best suits your needs, interests, and availability.
This survey will take approximately 3–5 minutes. Thank you!
