ARE YOU A LOCAL FAMILY INTERESTED IN HOSTING A HOCKEY PLAYER AND BEING A BILLET?
Billet. This small, two-syllable word is immensely important to hockey players and their families. Becoming a host family (also called a billet) is something of a tradition in the sport of hockey and a great way to get involved in the community, as well as develop some very special bonds with the players and their families. We are actively looking for families in the northern Michigan area to host one or more JR. A player in the future.
General Information:
• Families receive a billeting stipend for each player.
• Families provide the player with a bedroom and meals when local.
• Families treat the player like a family member.
Hosts come in every shape and size including:
o Two (2 parent families)
o Single parent households
o Empty nesters
o Families of local youth hockey players
o Two (2 parent families)
o Single parent households
o Empty nesters
o Families of local youth hockey players
Our players are in these two categories:
-High School Aged - attending school (public or "online/virtual" school)
-Out of high school - part-time students [local colleges or online classes] and /or work.
