Welcome to the CRL Assessment

A Church Revitalization Leader (CRL) is essential to accelerating a movement that matters in the Alliance Southeast. CRLs are rare. They have a God-given skill set that enables them to accelerate church revitalization in a local congregation. These leaders are passionate, visionary leaders who draw followers after them. They are innovative and enthusiastic about the future. They know how to adapt to a constantly changing society and culture. They passionately use their strengths and skills to equip the church to participate in God’s mission.

Using current scholarly research, the Alliance Southeast (ASE) has identified nine essential leadership characteristics of a CRL. Although most CRLs will exhibit other leadership characteristics, the nine characteristics identified by the ASE are foundational to accelerating church revitalization in the ASE.

To identify CRLs, the Alliance Southeast developed a 45-item initial assessment that ranks an individual’s competency in the nine essential leadership characteristics. This is not a determination of someone’s overall leadership ability. This initial assessment seeks to identify the rare individuals called to accelerate church revitalization. The assessment is scored on a Likert scale of one to five, with one being “never to rarely” and five being “almost always.” Once the assessment is scored, the Church Revitalization Director will contact you with the results and discuss next steps.
