Alternative procedure to radiation therapy for patients undergoing breast conserving surgery

SenoGuard is developing an option other than radiation therapy for patients undergoing breast conserving surgery (lumpectomy). Your feedback will help us understand the interest in an alternative procedure to radiation. We appreciate your time.  This survey will take less than 5 minutes.

Question Title

* 1. If your diagnosis was low risk invasive ductal carcinoma (early stage small breast cancer tumor) and there was an alternative procedure other than radiation therapy that would be performed at the time of your lumpectomy, instead of later, would you be interested in learning more?

Question Title

* 2. If you knew there was a choice of either radiation therapy following surgery or an equally effective procedure performed at the time of surgery that would eliminate follow-up treatments, would you consider the use of this technology for yourself or loved one?

Question Title

* 3. If there was a newer procedure that did not have the potential of cardiac or cosmetic damage to the breast--but it did not have the 25 year history of radiation therapy--would you consider the newer procedure if it had been shown to be equally effective?

Question Title

* 4. If the above-mentioned procedure was not available at your treatment center, would you seek an alternative treatment center that would perform the procedure?

Question Title

* 5. Do you think that the use of a non-radiation technology is preferable to radiation therapy if they each can achieve the same results?

Question Title

* 6. Until insurance covers this new procedure, and assuming it has the same efficacy & safety, would you be willing to pay for it yourself if the cost was the same amount as your co-payment for radiation therapy?
