Florida is home to over 23,000 manufacturing companies employing over 418,000 Floridians. In honor of Manufacturing Month, the members of the Florida Legislature's Manufacturing and Supply Chain Caucus are holding a commemorative coin design competition for the 2023 Legislative Session. This contest strives to promote and broaden awareness of the societal, educational and economic benefits made possible by Florida's manufacturing industry..This prestigious limited-edition commemorative challenge coin is given to an individual or manufacturing company in Florida who have demonstrated outstanding performance in the industry and are positive contributors to championing the benefits of this high-wage, high-value sector.Students who enter the competition will get real-life exposure to the manufacturing process and an opportunity to meet their local legislator.Winner gets an all expenses paid trip to Tallahassee in 2023 to be recognized during a meeting of the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Caucus and receive private tour of our state capitol building.

Caucus Mission: To enable the Caucus members to collectively ensure that Florida’s manufacturers are properly represented in the Legislature. Find more information about the Caucus here.

Details on how to participate:

A regional design winner will be selected by the local regional manufacturers association and submitted to the Caucus for the selection of a final winner.
Challenge coin designs will be voted on by the Caucus at their next meeting, TBA date in January 2023. The winner will be selected at that time and invited to attend the second Caucus meeting in Tallahassee later in 2023.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Coin designs should be submitted by students from a Florida school (K-12 or Post-Secondary)
Coin Design Parameters:
  • The design should be drafted within a 2-inch circle.
  • The smallest size for a debossed area should be ~0.3mm.
  • The smallest raised stroke of metal should be ~0.3mm.
  • If you are applying color, a raised stroke of metal must surround the color and no areas can be smaller than 0.3mm thick.
  • The Caucus logo should be included on the design. Click here to download the logo.
  • Preference is for coins designs to be submitted using Adobe Illustrator, but as long as the files can be imported with layers into a PDF format they will be accepted.
