Description of recognition awards.  The following is a guide for the submission of awards that is based on length of service within the family program.

CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION:  This award is for any volunteer, Commander, First Sergeant, or other unit personnel that help at an event and you would like to say “thank you” in a special way.  It can be used for those volunteers that help with a family day, holiday party or such.  It is signed by the State Family Program Director.

WISCONSIN FAMILY PROGRAM PLAQUE:  This is a wooden plaque in the shape of Wisconsin.  It has the Family Program circular logo at the top, in brass, and has a small brass plaque for engraving.  The standard engraving will say:  "In Appreciation of Outstanding Family Support", and then has room for a name.  This plaque is used for lead volunteers, Commanders, First Sergeants, and other unit personnel who have contributed to your Family Readiness Group by devoting countless hours and has shown leadership in organizing and leading volunteers or events.  Plaques should normally be requested for military points of contact and family program volunteers who been active participants for more 2-3 years.

"WE ARE THE GUARD'S FAMILY" FRAMED PRINT:  This poster is a watercolor print of the "Guard Family" Creed.  It comes framed, in a brown, wooden frame.  This print can be requested to honor a volunteer, Commander, First Sergeant, or unit personnel.  It should be used for those volunteers or military personnel who have shown dedication in helping out at more than one event or have taken on a role as a chairperson.    The framed print should normally be requested for military points of contact and family program volunteers who been active participants for 5 - 7 years.

CRYSTAL AWARD:  This is a beautiful crystal statue that is given in recognition of those volunteers that have gone “above and beyond” their normal family readiness group duties by presenting new and workable ideas, working at many levels to improve the FRG, showing dedication and devotion to the unit and the FRG mission, they have been fulfilling their duties for more than 7 years, and are still working in the program.

Outstanding Community Service -

WISCONSIN COMMUNITY SERVICE PLAQUE:  This is a slightly larger wooden plaque in the shape of Wisconsin.  It has the Family Program logo at the top in brass and has a larger brass plaque for engraving.  The standard engraving will say “In Appreciation of Outstanding Family Support” – or what you would like it to read. This plaque is used to say thank you to community businesses that have gone above in helping members of the WING or in helping with unit events, for civilians who have contributed to your efforts, such as community agencies donating services or supplies, or special speakers who have come and talked to your group, etc.
