You are being asked to participate in a research study. Participation in this study is completely voluntary. Please read the information below and ask questions about anything that you do not understand before deciding if you want to participate. A researcher listed below will be available to answer your questions.

Purpose of Study
The purpose of this research study is to examine the purchasing behavior of motorsports spectators.
 
Participants
You are eligible to participate in this study if you are 18 years of age or older.

Exclusions
You are not eligible to participate in this study if you or members of your immediate family are employed by the track, the sanctioning body, or a team competing in the major motorsports event you attended.

Number of Participants and Time Commitment
This study will include approximately 300 participants and will involve approximately 5 minutes of your time.

Procedures
You will complete a survey about your purchasing behavior at this event.

Risks & Discomforts
This study involves no more than minimal risk. There are no known harms or discomforts associated with this study beyond those encountered in normal daily life.

Benefits
You will not directly benefit from participation in this study.
 
Benefits to Others
Motorsports managers might benefit from learning about the purchasing behavior of their fans. Additionally, results might indicate what the anticipated cost to attend a major motorsports event will be.

Alternatives to Participation
The only alternative to participation is not to participate.
 
Confidentiality
Participant Identifiable Data
No identifiable information will be collected about you.
Data Storage
All research data will be maintained in a secure location at WSSU.
Data Access
Only the research team will have access to the data. Publications and/or presentations that result from this study will not include identifiable information about you.
Data Retention
The researchers intend to keep the research data indefinitely.
