Appomattox to Capital Trail Study

The Crater Planning District Commission (CPDC) and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are studying how best to help cyclists, pedestrians, and other non-motorized transportation users get from the Appomattox River Trail in Hopewell to the Virginia Capital Trail in Charles City County. We will evaluate several ways of crossing the James River, including adding bicycle/pedestrian accommodations to existing bridges, constructing new bicycle/pedestrian bridges, and ferry or shuttle services. We've begun identifying opportunities and constraints in the study area (visit web-map here) and we need your help in identifying points of interest or concerns.
