Changes are coming to the splashpad at Anthony Locilento Park and we want your feedback!

Introduction

The City of Vaughan is planning improvements to the splashpad at Anthony Locilento Park as part of its Parks Infrastructure Renewal Program. This program provides annual funding to replace aging park amenities so that our public spaces remain safe, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

As part of the renewal, the City will:
  • make access to the splashpad barrier-free.
  • relocate the splashpad farther away from the pathway to reduce wind spray.
  • consider new pathway connections around the splashpad.
The current splashpad has coloured concrete and one large overhead feature that is complemented by ground sprays. As we plan for updates, we want your help choosing between two design options.

It is important to note that, due to the size of the water line that feeds the splashpad, there is a limited amount of water and water pressure available. The amount of water pressure available is a key factor in splashpad design, impacting the splashpad’s size, type of features and number of features that can be supported.

With the water pressure available, the City can either:

  • introduce a greater variety of play features (including an overhead feature) within a splashpad footprint that is similar in size to what is there now (Concept A: More variety), or
  • expand the splashpad area to provide more area to play, with ground sprays which require less water (Concept B: More space).
We want to hear from you! Take the survey to review the concepts and share your feedback.

Instructions

The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will cover the following topics:
  • Concept A: More variety
  • Concept B: More space
  • Your preferred concept
