1. Eligibility Criteria
- Who Can Be Nominated?
- Individuals, groups, or organizations that have made a significant, lasting impact on the Northwest Alabama community.
- Must have demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to the betterment of the community.
- Contributions may include financial support, volunteerism, advocacy, or a combination of these efforts.
- Nominees must align with the mission and vision of United Way of Northwest Alabama.
- Exclusions:
- Current employees, board members, or immediate family members of United Way of Northwest Alabama are ineligible.
- Past recipients of the Clyde W. Anderson Award are not eligible for renomination.
2. Nomination Process
- Open Nominations
- Nominations can be submitted by the general public, United Way stakeholders, and community partners.
- Submission Requirements:
- A completed nomination form including:
- Nominee's name and contact information.
- A detailed description of their contributions and impact on the community.
- Specific examples of leadership and dedication to philanthropic efforts.
- Supporting documents (e.g. letters of recommendation, photos, articles, or testimonials) are optional but encouraged.

- Open from May 30 through 11:59 pm on Friday, July 25, 2025.
3. Selection Process
- Round-Robin Voting System:
- A voting system will be used to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation of all nominees.
4. Evaluation Criteria
- Nominees will be evaluated on the following:
- Impact: The measurable and lasting difference they have made in the community.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead others in philanthropic efforts.
- Innovation: Creative or unique approaches to solving community challenges.
- Sustainability: Efforts that have created long-term benefits for the community.
5. Announcement and Recognition:
- Award Presentation:
- The award will be presented at the Annual Donor Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, September 18, 2025.
- Recognition:
- The recipient will receive a commemorative plaque.
- Public recognition through press releases, social media, and the United Way website.
- Opportunity to share their story and inspire others at the Donor Appreciation Dinner.
