Anastasia Questionnaire

Dear Sir/Madam:

We are conducting a new survey of the Anastasia movement. If you are a involved in some degree with the Anastasian worldview and activities, we would appreciate your taking the time to complete this survey.

This survey builds on earlier studies of other kinds of groups (hence questions that may otherwise seem completely irrelevant to Anastasians). Yet other comparisons are drawn from the General Social Survey (GSS), which permits comparisons with the more general population (some GSS items are actually quite odd). This has resulted in the survey being rather long--so we deeply appreciate your taking the time to complete it.

Categories found in questionnaires like this one frequently do not do justice to the complexities of real life. For this reason, a number of open-ended items have been included that allow for more nuanced responses. You are also welcome to contact James Lewis directly at james.lewis@uit.no and Rasa Pranskevičiūtė at raspran@gmail.com

The questionnaire is completely anonymous, and does NOT collect any identifying information. It is also set to NOT collect your IP address.

We anticipate that the articles and books we might develop out of this research project will be positive pieces that will provide Anastasians with publications that can be passed along to concerned relatives, journalists and others. We have a solid track record. For Pranskevičiūtė, you can consult:

Kaunas: Vytautas Magnus University, p. 53-68, <http://religija.lt/sites/default/files/religiju_ivairove-2014-optimizuotas.pdf>.

For Lewis, who has not written on the Anastasia movement, you could consult one of his co-authored books on other new religious movements:

PLEASE NOTE: If you know that you are inclined to be really thorough (a trait we deeply appreciate), this questionnaire will likely to take a while to complete. Unfortunately, it is not possible to 'park' the questionnaire and return to it later. What you might want to do instead is to look through the questionnaire, note the questions you think will require lengthy responses, and then compose your responses in a word-processing program. After you have finished, reopen the questionnaire, and cut-and-paste responses to relevant questions.

Please inform other participants about this research project and feel free to pass it along via e-mail or to post a link on appropriate blogs or websites.

Thanks for your help.
