Please submit this form by 5pm, Wednesday 28 May 2025.
This award recognises alumni in the Solomon Islands who have made positive and lasting contributions to environmental protection by implementing innovative and sustainable solutions, activities, or policies that promote a cleaner, healthier environment. Their efforts address a broad range of issues including climate change, pollution reduction (air, land, water, and marine), waste management, biodiversity conservation, renewable energy, and the sustainable use of natural resources.
Alumni considered for an Alumni Leadership Award must be a Solomon Islands citizen who has graduated from a tertiary institution with the Government of Australia’s scholarship, fellowship, or short course programs including Australia Awards Scholarships, Australia Awards Pacific Scholarships, Australia Awards Fellowships, Australia Awards Short Courses. Alumni must also meet one or more of the following requirements:
· Demonstrate utilisation of the skills, knowledge and experience related to their Australia Awards study area, to achieve an outstanding result in Solomon Islands
· demonstrate an outstanding achievement and identify where leadership has been demonstrated
· contribute to an area of strategic value to Australia and Solomon Islands
· be able to clearly state what development outcome has been
achieved/facilitated by the alumnus or alumna
· demonstrate contribution to linkages with Australia and/or other regional linkages
· represent AASI in a positive light, in the general community, within the professional community and to the Governments of Solomon Islands and Australia
Alumni with disabilities and other individuals contributing to the diversity of Solomon Islands society will be highly considered for this award.
