Survey for Independent Forest Audit of Algonquin Park
Why are We Asking for Your Opinion?
Under Ontario's Independent Forest Audit Program, each Forest Management Unit is audited every five years to ensure it is following approved plans and being managed sustainably.
This year ArborVitae Environmental Services, an independent company, is auditing the management of the Algonquin Park Forest by the Algonquin Forestry Authority (AFA) and by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF). The Audit covers the period April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2017.
The audit is based on an inspection of sites in the forest, review of planning documents, and interviews with stakeholders and forest managers at both the AFA and the MNRF. ArborVitae team members will be in the Algonquin area from Monday Oct 30 to Friday Nov 3 2017 to inspect a sample of forest operations, conduct interviews and review documents.
We would value your perspectives on how the Forest has been managed during the past five years. Your comments will help the auditors understand how well the AFA and MNRF have considered the interests and concerns of people interested in the Algonquin Park Forest. If you would like to share your thoughts, please respond to some or all of the following questions. All responses will remain confidential within the audit team.
