We’re excited to share the City of Albany’s draft Strategic Plan for FY 2026-2030, which will guide how the City serves the community over the next five years.
Since August 2025, more than 1,750 community members and 120 City employees have helped shape this plan through extensive engagement. Together, we refined our mission, vision, and values and identified five vision areas that outline Albany’s priorities for the next 10-20 years:
- Reliable and Sustainable Infrastructure
- Healthy Economy
- Safe and Resilient Community
- Connected and Engaged Community
- High-Performing Government
Each vision area includes medium term goals (3-5 years) and tactical objectives (1-2 years) that describe how we will advance each goal. We also have performance indicators, called measures of success, to track meaningful progress during implementation to track our performance over time.
The strategic plan will be used to align City resources and initiatives with these priorities – but first, we want to know, “Did we get it right?”
