Introduction

Thank you for agreeing to take part in this survey.

This survey is a tool to inform a scoping study on the use of financial instruments for agricultural risk mitigation conducted by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) and Analysis for Economic Decision (ADE). The objectives of the scoping study are the following:
- Understand how, why and in what context impact occurs/fails to occur;
- Provide a practical and communicable tool for policymakers, researchers and practitioners to identify lacking evidence on this thematic;
- Highlight the opportunities and challenges of impact evaluations in this field;
- Identify innovations in the field;

In particular, the objective of this online survey is to get your opinion on the mechanisms driving or hampering the impacts of these financial instruments and on the fields where more rigorous evidence is needed.

The survey is structured in 5 sections, and will take approximately 10 minutes to be completed.
1. Identification section and experience in the field
2. Assumptions and mechanisms to achieve the expected outputs/impacts
3. Challenges of conducting impact evaluations in the field
4. Innovations in the ongoing interventions
5. Evidence gaps and opportunities for impact evaluations

We invite you to fill in this online questionnaire before 06/04/2016. Be assured that all answers you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence.
We thank you for your time and collaboration!
