Nominate now for the South Australian Agricultural Town of the Year!
South Australian towns flying the flag for primary industries are eligible for this new award which highlights the vital role agriculture plays in regional communities.
The community has demonstrated excellence in one or more of the following areas over the past 12 months, with the underpinning goal of growing primary industries and driving regional development:

o  The farming community has embraced science, adopting new technologies and fostering a culture of innovation which has resulted in greater production and/or increased productivity in agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture or forestry.

o  Initiatives have been undertaken to increase market access to interstate or international markets, contributing to the state’s agricultural economy on a wider scale.

o  Regional growth is supported by job creation and retention, and generating ways to attract people to the regions.

o  The adoption and promotion of biosecurity measures with a significant impact on protecting the region and the state’s valuable agricultural assets.

o  The community and industry have demonstrated resilience in the face of adverse event/s to rebuild industries.

o  Members of the community are involved in leadership activities that contribute to growth in agriculture / regional development within their town and more broadly across the state.

o  Collaboration across the community – people working together for united benefit and success.
o  Community is able to demonstrate its support and promotion of agriculture.
