Agricultural Land Use Survey

The Central Florida Regional Planning Council (CFRPC) is leading a regional study to better understand how agricultural lands are changing across Polk, Hardee, DeSoto, Highlands, and Okeechobee counties, and what these changes mean for the future resiliency of our region.

This study focuses on identifying where agricultural land conversion is occurring, why it is happening, and how these changes may impact the region’s economy, natural resources, and rural communities. There will be a focus on the increasing conversion of citrus groves and other working lands to non-agricultural uses.
