ADELAIDE ADVANCED RINGING WEEKEND 15-17 May 2026

This year's Adelaide Advanced Ringing Weekend has a new format, but still the same goals.

The weekend will focus on quarter peals and a peal, with the opportunity for ALL Adelaide ringers to attempt a quarter peal "at the next level". Everything from the tenor behind to conducting your first quarter peal of 8 spliced Surprise Major; and beyond. The goal remains the same - developing competent method ringing on 8 and more bells in Adelaide. The peal will be an opportunity for Michelle to ring the 7th with a strong band.

There will be at least 4 interstate experienced ringers visiting Adelaide so that the quarter peals have supportive bands.

As part of the weekend there will be food and drinks on Friday night, a pub/restaurant meal on Saturday evening and the peal attempt at St Peter's on Sunday afternoon.

And, just to reiterate, all Adelaide ringers are invited to take part in the quarter peals and social events over the weekend.

Other visiting interstate ringers are welcome - please fill in the survey and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.

The draft program is:

Friday:

• 5pm, 6:30pm and 8pm - quarter peals on 6 and 8.
• 7:30pm-9pm - St Cuthbert's Practice night.
• Food and drinks, St Cuthbert's hall (BYO).

Saturday:

• 9:30am, 11:00am - quarter peals on 6 and 8.
• Lunch - own arrangements
• 1:30pm, 3:00pm - quarter peals on 6 and 8.
• 4:30pm - quarter peal on 10 or 12
• 6:30pm - group pub/restaurant meal (venue TBC)

Sunday

• Morning - service ringing
• Brunch - Bocelli Cafe, Wakefield & Hutt Streets
• Afternoon - peal at St Peter's Cathedral
• Afternoon - more quarter peals (subject to interest and numbers)

Note that there may be simultaneous quarter peals at some times.
