An introduction to the work of the task force
Ableism, or the systemic prejudices in a system in favour of able-bodied persons was discussed at the 2019 ELCIC National Convention. From this discussion, the Task Force Addressing Ableism was formed by our National Church Council to help us as the ELCIC consider ableism within our community and to provide recommendations for inclusion and accommodation.
To do this work, the task force is sharing this survey as a tool to gather stories and experience from within the ELCIC.
If you’re willing, we would love to have you share from your experience in the survey below. This information will be gathered by the ELCIC Taskforce Addressing Ableism for the purpose of collecting information to be shared in their report to the 2022 National Convention. You will also be invited to share your name and contact information with the task force. This is not a requirement of completing the survey.
