The Shropshire Accord is a formal agreement between public bodies including Shropshire Council and the Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector.
The Accord is designed to foster collaboration, partnership, and mutual accountability across sectors to improve services and outcomes for the community. It establishes shared values and principles.
The purpose of the document is to:
Strengthen partnerships: It encourages better working relationships between the council, health partners, and the VCSE sector, ensuring that each sector is valued for its contribution.
Align priorities: By setting out shared goals and values, the Accord ensures that public and voluntary sectors work towards common objectives, especially in addressing local needs such as health inequalities and community resilience.
Enhance collaboration: The Accord creates a structure for system-wide collaboration, enabling resources to be pooled and coordinated for maximum impact.
Promote accountability: It establishes clear expectations for both the public and voluntary sectors, ensuring mutual accountability and a focus on delivering measurable outcomes for the community.
