Participants are requested to arrive on Monday afternoon in time for an opening reception on Monday evening at the Rizzo Center. The following Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will feature two working sessions each morning and two sessions each afternoon. Breakfasts and lunches are provided. No group dinners are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. There will be a closing academy dinner on Thursday night at a leading restaurant in Durham/Chapel Hill area. Friday morning will feature a session for presentations by participants and the awarding of certificates of completion, after which participants will be free to depart (no sooner than 12 noon -with flights departing no sooner than 2 pm).
The early registration fee for the 2025 Academy is $3100 for members and $3850 for non-members. After November 15, 2024 the fee is $3300 members and $4050 for non-members. This fee covers the cost of lodging (Mon-Thurs nights), text book Leading Internationalization: A Handbook for International Education Leaders (edited by Deardorff and Charles), all academy materials, breakfasts (Tues-Fri), all break snacks and beverages, lunches (Tues.-Thurs.), and the opening and closing dinners. Participants will be responsible for their own travel expenses, airport transfers, two dinners (and Handbook of International Higher Education (second edition), which is an additional recommended text for the Academy). Full payment is due within 14 business days of notification of acceptance.
