Alaska Women Ascend Training Application

Alaska Women Ascend (AWA) is a weekend-long training for progressive women interested in running for office, managing campaigns, or driving community change.
In 2026, AWA will be held in person from August 28th through 30th at Alaska Pacific University to provide hands-on learning and meaningful networking.
Eligible participants include progressive Alaska women* who are pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ rights, pro-union, anti-racist, and environmentally minded.
Trainers include Alaska women leaders—elected officials, campaign professionals, and advocates—offering expert sessions on social media, public speaking, endorsements, and more.
The true cost of attending this conference is approximately $500 per person, but thanks to the generosity of our donors and sponsors, that cost is significantly subsidized. As a result, registration is offered on a sliding scale from $0 to $250, allowing participants to pay what they can afford. We encourage those with the means to consider paying the full amount to help sustain the program and expand access for others. To further reduce barriers, a limited number of scholarships are also available to help cover travel expenses.
