Following the great success of last year - The AVA is once again offering an exciting and innovative session - VetEd Talks – Passion for the Profession, at the AVA National Conference in Perth May 2019. The aim of the session is for veterinarians to present succinct inspirational stories and food for thought to the profession.

To apply, you must be an AVA member and you'll need to submit a video of maximum two minute duration. In the video you should introduce:
  • Yourself
  • Your presentation topic
  • Why you feel passionate about the topic
  • Why you would like to share this with the veterinary community
You will need to upload your video to YouTube, set as 'unlisted' and submit a link for the selection committee to review.

Applications open between 8th February – 25th March 2019

Follow these instructions for uploading to YouTube.

On a computer:

1. Sign into your YouTube account or create a new account.
2. Click on the ‘Upload’ button / arrow at the top right of the page.
3. Before you start uploading the video, you can choose the video privacy settings. The default is ‘Public’. We suggest you change it to 'Unlisted' which means only those who have a direct URL link can view the video.
4. Select ‘Upload’ file and insert the video you'd like to upload from your computer.
5. As the video is uploading, you can edit both the basic information and the advanced settings of the video. We suggest you include your full name in the title.
6. If you set the video privacy setting to ‘Unlisted’ previously, just click ‘Done’, otherwise click 'Publish’ to finish uploading to YouTube.
7. Once complete, the link to your video will appear. Just copy this and enter into the field below. (You will also receive an email confirmation from YouTube.)

On a mobile device:
1. Navigate to where your video file is saved on your mobile and select it.
2. Click 'share' and then select the YouTube App (you'll need to have this installed on your mobile device already).
3. Fill in the details and set privacy to 'Unlisted'.
4. Select 'Upload'.
5. Once complete, open the video and go to 'Share'. You can then copy the link and paste in the field below, or send it to yourself via email, etc.
