Assistive Technology for Girls and Women with Disabilities

We’re looking to better understand the Assistive Technology (AT) that teen girls* with disabilities are currently using and wish they could use. We know that being a teen girl is complicated and that sometimes using AT comes with mixed emotions. Maybe you didn’t want to change in the locker room in front of all of the other girls because it took you too long to get your bra off. So, instead, you wore your sports bra all day. Maybe you always wondered if there was AT to help you shave or put deodorant on. Wouldn’t it be great if another disabled woman had a solution for you that could have made changing bras, shaving, or applying deodorant easier? We love Assistive Technology and want to share all of our secrets for what works best and what did not work at all. If you identify as a woman or girl, tell us all about the Assistive Technology you used in secret and in public.

We will use the collected information for two presentations—one for teen girls and one for adult women with disabilities.
