Background
The Board conducts the AST for use as a statistical moderation device for the scaling of college-based assessments for the calculation of course scores, aggregate scores and university entrance ranks, currently the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
Terms of Reference for Review of the ACT Scaling Test
The ACT Board of Senior Secondary Studies (BSSS) is undertaking a review of its scaling test.
Scope of Review
The review will cover the following:
a) Vision and principles
b) Test design specifications
c) Implementation of scaling test
d) Profile of candidates
The review does not include consideration of scaling processes, test provider and ATAR calculations
