The program facilitators will also be provided with the applications of those selected so that programming can be tailored to best fit the needs of the participants and we will be able to best serve your needs as you continue your coaching career.

13.If selected, you are expected to attend all synchronous virtual sessions (overview, including tentative schedule, available HERE), complete asynchronous learning assignments within the allotted timeframes, attend in-person sessions on Tuesday, November 17 at the IWLCA Convention, and be an active participant in the community of practice that will include the other members of the cohort. Additionally, participants will be asked to provide ongoing feedback regarding the curriculum and other aspects of the program and participate in an exit interview with IWLCA staff at the end of the program. PERSONAL STATEMENT:
This document should:
  • Identify your coaching goals and aspirations
  • Explain why you want to participate in the IWLCA Aspire program
  • Detail what qualities you think you will bring to the Community of Practice (CoP), which will be created to enable participants to stay connected and collaborate across the duration of the Aspire program

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION:
We require two letters of recommendation, saved as PDF files, to be submitted with your application (Download Letter of Recommendation Information). In the event that one or both letters are not included with your application, they must be emailed to Danie Caro (dcaro@iwlca.org) by the July 24 application deadline. Letters should not exceed one typed page in length.

One letter should be from the head coach of your program and should address your current strengths as a coach and identify areas where they believe you should focus on developing, as well as detailing how they plan to support you in your coaching development.

The second should be from an administrator at your institution (it does not have to be an athletics administrator) and should address the contributions you have made to your program and department and why they believe you will benefit from participation in the Aspire program.
