Overview

Thank you for your interest in conducting a research or evaluation project with After School Matters. After School Matters provides teens with opportunities to discover their potential and find their future by designing and delivering project-based apprenticeship programs in a variety of content areas, engaging skilled professionals as instructors, aligning and maximizing the resources of an extensive network of public-private partnerships to coordinate and sustain investment in youth development, and focusing on continuous quality improvement.

Our core program components include:
  • advocating for teens and youth development
  • building opportunities for teens through partnerships
  • engaging teens in skills development for work and higher education
  • showcasing teen accomplishments
  • disseminating research and best practices about out-of-school time for teens
We have a formal application and approval process for all external data collection or data sharing. Before you complete our process, please note that we interact with many research and evaluation partners, and we are unable to accommodate many requests. Primary factors in our decision to approve or reject a project include the volume of current research projects at After School Matters, the timeline of the project, and whether the project directly aligns with our mission or current research needs. Please note we are not currently accepting undergraduate student research requests.

If you would like to propose a research or evaluation project with After School Matters, please complete our external research request form. We review external research requests twice a year based on the program session(s) in which data collection will occur. The deadline and notification dates are:

Fall/Spring programs data collection (September – May)
  • Deadline for all materials: May 31
  • Notification: July 1
Summer programs data collection (June – August)
  • Deadline for all materials: February 28
  • Notification: April 1
If you have any questions about the review process, please contact Amanda Lambie, Manager of Research and
Evaluation, at amanda.lambie@afterschoolmatters.org.

Thank you,
After School Matters

Please note, these requirements are subject to change without notice at the discretion of After School Matters.
