* Academic Researchers are forming a union! This survey is intended to inform the bargaining process, beginning with the drafting and democratic ratification of initial bargaining demands. Participation is key to successful bargaining, especially among a group as diverse as Academic Researchers, so everyone is highly encouraged to complete this survey. Details about the process of bargaining are available at academicresearchersunited.org, as well as an AR Working Conditions Chart.

First, in order to move forward and begin bargaining, a majority of ARs must sign authorization cards. If you have not signed a card already, please check the box below and someone from our team will promptly follow up:

Lengthen appointments, both to increase job stability and accommodate longer visa durations (without reducing time to promotion or pay step increases)
Provide protection from unfair termination and unjust layoff, including procedures to investigate layoffs due to lack of grant funding. Ensure security of appointment even in the absence of funding support
