Course Description:
Recruitment in film and television can often be fast-paced, conducted at short notice and reliant on informal networks. But fast recruitment processes shouldn't come at the expense of fairness and finding the best talent for the role.

Fair Recruitment in Film & TV equips hiring managers with the knowledge and practical tools to recruit effectively while meeting legal requirements and inclusive best practice.

Led by CIPD qualified People and Culture (HR) Consultant Lisa Balderson, you'll gain strategies you can apply immediately to improve your hiring process, make better recruitment decisions, and build stronger, more diverse production teams.

Tutor
Lisa Balderson is a CIPD qualified People and Culture (HR) Consultant with more than 10 years' experience, working primarily with companies in Film & TV. Lisa works across both scripted and unscripted genres, including HETV productions, providing HR consultancy to smaller independent companies and production start-ups, as well as creating and delivering training sessions for organisations such as BECTU Vision, The Production Guild and ScreenSkills.

Alongside her CIPD qualification, she holds a Level 3 Award in Training and Education, specifically aimed at training those working in the Screen Industries, a Mental Health First Aid Certification, and i-ACT Approved Manager status.

Who is this course for?
This course is designed for Supervisors and Heads of Department who are responsible for hiring within their teams in film and television productions.

Eligibility:

This session is specifically for established film and television practitioners based in Scotland. Please only apply if you meet this criteria. BECTU opportunities for those in other areas of the UK can be found here:
England, Wales.

• Applicants should be based and working freelance in film and television in Scotland.

• Students are not eligible for this training.

Selection:

• As this is a workshop style course, there are a limited number of spaces available to allow participants the opportunity to interact and ask questions.
• Places will be given to those who demonstrate the greatest professional need for this training with eligible Bectu members receiving priority for places.
• Places are provided free of charge but are worth a considerable amount. Please only apply if you can commit to attending the session.
