Refusal to participate will involve no penalty or loss of benefits to which the participant is otherwise entitled and the participant may discontinue participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits, to which the participant is otherwise entitled.  In participating you will be assisting in research on the opinion of the quality of service provided by the Amarillo Police Department.  Your responses herein will remain completely confidential, and will only be analyzed in the aggregate for academic research purposes. In continuing this survey, you acknowledge that you are at least 18 years of age and wish to participate in this study conducted by Elizabeth A. Brown and the Amarillo Police Department.  The information collected will be stored on a secure server.  There is no right or wrong answer and we have no interest in how a particular individual responds to these questions.   In this study you will be asked a series of questions about the services provided by the Amarillo Police Department and your opinion of the quality of those services.  The closing section includes demographic questions that allow us to better analyze your responses.  There is no more risk to you than expressing your opinions in everyday conversation.  There is no direct benefit to you, but your participation will benefit the Amarillo Police Department in providing better service.
