Thank you for your interest in our study! In this research project, we are exploring the relationship between brain activity, self-reported food craving and binge eating episodes. All study participants must meet certain eligibility criteria to make sure that they can participate safely and provide meaningful data for this project.
To determine your eligibility for this study, please begin by completing the following questions. Some of these questions are personal in nature; however, everything disclosed is confidential. Your responses will be stored securely as data and will only be shared with research staff directly involved with this study and those who regulate or sponsor this study.
If you meet initial eligibility criteria, we will contact you to provide further information. There is no compensation for completing this brief survey. However, participants may be compensated up to $500 for full study completion, which includes one (1) visit to the Sanford Center for Biobehavioral Research in Fargo, ND, 14 days of completing brief surveys about your experiences on your smart phone throughout the day, and one (1) visit to the North Dakota State University campus to complete a behavioral task while the electroencephalogram (EEG) is recorded. In total, participants will commit approximately 8 hours of time: approximately 2.5 hours for the initial study visit, an additional 3 hours (spread over 14 days) for the cell-phone sampling phase of the study, and finally approximately 2.5 hours for the EEG session.
If you would like to learn more about the study before completing the questions below, please contact Erika Lovaas at erika.lovaas@sanfordhealth.org or 701-417-8718.
