Thank you for expressing your interest in atending Athlete Leadership University. This form is to collect contact information and learn what Athlete Leadership University course(s) you are interested in completing.

In order to become an Athlete Leader, you must actively participate in at least one sport each year and have no recent history of misbehavior.

Please note that this is NOT a registration form for Athlete Leadership University. Instead, this allows Special Olympics Pennsylvania to get the word to more athletes. In order to register, you will still need approval from your Program Manager/Team Leader & Regional Executive Director.

4.Select the Athlete Leadership University Course(s) you are interested in completing. Trainings are typically 1-2 days (Saturday-Sunday or Saturday only) with the option of arriving the night before and/or staying over afterwards depending on location and schedule.(Required.)

Athlete Representative-An Athlete Representative is someone that wants to not only lead a conversation, but also is willing to take action and speak on behalf of all athletes. (2 Day Training With The Ability To Arrive The Night Before If Needed)

Global Messenger-A Global Messenger is someone who of course enjoys to talk! It should also be someone passionate who can easily sell Special Olympics to others! (2 Day Training With The Ability To Arrive The Night Before If Needed)

Healthy Lifestyles (training to become a Health and Fitness Coordinator)-A Health and Fitness Coordinator is an athlete committed to promoting healthier lifestyles for athletes, unified partners, coaches and families. Their primary responsibility is offering year round health and fitness clubs at least once a month to people of all ages and abilities. (1 Day Training With Ability To Stay Overnight Before And/Or After If Needed)

All Mentors must be registered Class A volunteers with SOPA. If this individual is not a Class A volunteer, please have them fill out this application. For volunteer classification, they must select, "Class A" and for Local Program, they are to select the county/area you are representing.
