Descriptions of ALSHP Elected Offices for 2022-23

President-Elect (followed by year as President and a year as Immediate Past-President – total of 3 years): 
The President-Elect shall be the Vice President of the ALSHP and shall perform the duties of the President when he/she is unable to do so. The President-Elect shall be a member of the Board of Directors. The President-Elect shall attend all meetings of the Board of Directors. The President-Elect shall develop a knowledge and understanding of the duties and responsibilities of the President during his/her term as President-Elect. The President-Elect shall identify potential committee members for appointment to Society Committees during the term of President. 

Secretary-Treasurer (2-year Term)
The Secretary-Treasurer serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Finance Committee, overseeing the financial affairs of ALSHP. The Secretary-Treasurer is a member of the Executive Council and a voting member of the Board of Directors.

Council Director for Educational Affairs (Two-year Term)
The Council on Educational Affairs consists of committees related to the educational outreach activities and promotion of research and scholarship of ALSHP.  The Council Director oversees the activities of the Council and serves as a voting member of the ALSHP Board of Directors.

Council Director for Professional Affairs (Two-year Term)
The Council on Professional Affairs plans and directs ALSHP activities related to the enhancement of health-system pharmacy practice and the support of its practitioners.  Committees include Resident and New Practitioner, Student Affairs, Technician Affairs, and the Pharmacy Leadership Forum. The Council Director oversees the activities of the Council and serves as a voting member of the ALSHP Board of Directors.
