The ALA is seeking Expression of Interest from coaches to attend and complete our new Talent Coach Course.

The Talent Coach Course is a course (the next level up from a Club Coach Course) designed for coaches who are or would like to coach athletes within the ‘Talent Phase’ of the ALA Participation Framework. The Talent Phase encompasses the representative level (state or junior national teams) and the premier club level of each state.

The course will cover a total of 9 modules including modules on sport science topics and lacrosse specific (male and female) skills and tactics. (See list of modules below).

The sport science modules will be delivered by professionals working in other High Performance sports or at Universities.

The course will be delivered over a 2 day period, initially being a weekend (Saturday & Sunday). However, coaches must understand that more time, commitment and work will be needed to complete activities prior to and post the 2 day face to face coach. Coaches will be required to:

- Create an ALA Training account
- Complete Pre Course readings.
- Complete Pre Course work (additional education and workbook questions).
- Attend the Face to face course (2 days).
- Complete Post Course work (Workbook questions, program planning (session and seasonal) and 2 x practical assessments).

It is the ALA’s intention to run 1 course each year starting in 2020, either on a rotational basis or if there is high demand. The cost of the course is expected to be $250 (max) per person to attend which will be payable before attending the face to face course.

To begin this process we are kindly asking coaches to fill out this online form providing the details about themselves, their coaching history and potential date preferences for 2020.
