The Office of History and Archaeology is updating Alaska’s historic preservation plan.  Our first public survey was available from April 7-December 30, 2016. Seven key issues (Education, Partnerships, Survey and Documentation, Preservation and Protection, Sustainability, Local Preservation, and Funding and Incentives) emerged after reviewing comments received though the survey. The following draft vision, goals, and objectives were developed to address these preservation issues.

Please take the time to provide any comments you might have on our proposed draft vision, goals, and objectives. This is your opportunity to influence the direction of the preservation movement in the state over the next five years. Join us in this cooperative effort to preserve Alaska’s cultural heritage.

Thank you in advance for your time and participation!
