Application for Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP) 2019/20

Applications are open for Australian citizens aged between 21 and 25 years (born after September 1994 and before October 1998) to join the Australia Indonesia Youth Exchange Program (AIYEP). AIYEP is a one of a kind, highly successful program marking its 37th year in 2018/19. Eighteen young Indonesians aged 21–25 spend two months (October to December) in Australia experiencing work placements, homestays, community service, cultural performances and visits to local schools and communities. Eighteen young Australians undertake a similar program in Indonesia with their Indonesian counterparts from December to January. This application form is for Australian citizens only. Prospective Indonesian applicants can contact their provincial branch of Purna Caraka Muda Indonesia (PCMI) for further information. Applications for Australian applicants close at midnight on 16 June, 2019.

The program aims to provide opportunities for young people from Indonesia and Australia to gain a better understanding of the culture, development and way of life of each other's country. AIYEP alumni form a vibrant group whose members have gone on to work in areas with a continuing involvement in the bilateral relationship. Indicative dates for AIYEP37 are from 8 October, 2018 - 27 January, 2019 with the Indonesian phase departing from Melbourne on 2 December (these dates pending confirmation).
