WHIMA Delegates Want Your Input

AHIMA recently released the 2019-2020 AHIMA ballot.  It contains only one name for President-Elect and only one name for Speaker-Elect.  The President-Elect is voted on by the membership and the Speaker-Elect is voted on by the Delegates.  AHIMA Bylaws state that two names are required on the ballot for President-Elect.  Concerns have been raised about the fact that there were multiple qualified candidates that were not included on the ballot.  We wanted to present this information to our membership as it may affect your vote in the upcoming election.

In order to have a valid election, AHIMA Bylaws require a 3% return of ballots from their membership. Voting on the ballot in its entirety or a portion of it will count towards the 3% quorum. If enough members abstain from voting, and the quorum is not met, AHIMA would need to conduct a new election.
