The Boston Common Garage is an underground lot, located at zero Charles Street, Boston, Mass. 02116. The entrance is on the right side of Charles Street as you pass between the Boston Public Gardens and Boston Common. Directions from the Garage to the State House, Ashburton Entrance:
Upon exiting the garage, walk up Charles Street towards Beacon Street and turn right. Continue down walking up Beacon Street and you will see the State House on your Left (located at 24 Beacon Street). Walk past the State House and turn left onto Bowdoin Street. The Ashburton Entrance will be on your left.
Directions from MBTA Stations to the State House, Ashburton Entrance:
From the Red or Green line – get off at the Park Street stop and walk up Park Street to the State House, located at 24 Beacon Street.
From the Orange line – get off at the Downtown Crossing stop and take Winter Street to turn right onto Tremont Street, walk up Park Street to the State House, located at 24 Beacon Street.
From the Blue line – get off at the Government Center stop and walk through City Plaza to Somerset Street. Take a Right onto Somerset Street, left onto Ashburton Place and enter the State House on Bowdoin Street. (Note: the Green Line also stops at Government Center, but the walk from the Green Line stop at Park Street is a more direct route to the State House).
