* 1. Thank you for taking the time to complete this easy registration for our upcoming AERC Meeting in Washington, DC. Please provide the following answers so we will have accurate information for our Meeting.

* 2. AERC Member Institution representatives are being invited to the Annual NEON Members Meeting to be held at the Renaissance Hotel on DuPont Circle on Wednesday, October 17th. This year the AERC and NEON have intentionally scheduled our meetings back to back to allow participants to attend both meetings on the same trip to Washington and thereby reducing cost.

* 3. AERC Member Institution representatives are also invited to attend one of the concurrent NEON workshops the morning of Thursday, October 18th. These workshops are will deal with 1) NEON's Airborne Platform or 2) NEON's Terrestrial Instrumentation. These workshops will be held at the Smithsonian's Ripley Center that morning from 0830-1100 (tentative time).

* 4. AERC will host a lunch for AERC Member Representatives and guests at the Smithsonian's Ripley Center on Thursday, October 18th from 1200-1300.

* 5. AERC will also host our Annual Association's Research Symposium for AERC Member Representatives and guests at the Smithsonian's Ripley Center on Thursday, October 18th. The general theme this year is "The Role of Ecosystem Science in National Security". On behalf of the AERC Board, we hope that you can attend. The Agenda for this symposium is availableat the AERC web site www.ecosystemresearch.org/.

* 6. The Board of AERC will also host a reception for members of NEON and AERC the evening of October 18 at the Ripley Center, following the Research Symposium. Our hope is that this time together will allow for further discussion of the role ecosystem science plans in national security, building on what was presented at the Symposium.

* 7. The Board of AERC invites all AERC Member Representatives to our annual business meeting from 0900-1200 in the Ripley Center on October 19th. We hope you can attend.
