Scope and purpose

This questionnaire is designed to generate a snapshot of theatre, dance, drama and performance studies across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, particularly in context of the sector wide impact of COVID-19, and also in context of staffing cuts, changes in government policy and other developments in the last 5-7 years.

We want to know what the sector looks like now, and to see what was lost and what might be gained. The aim is to build solidarity in the sector and inform strategy and advocacy in policy making into the future. We want to hear your stories and quantitively register impacts on the sector.

The results of this survey will be used to inform a plenary at the 2021 ADSA Geelong conference (online), a “state of the nations” address. Its aim is to open discussion, it is a snapshot rather than a comprehensive survey, so if you think anything has been overlooked opportunities in the survey and plenary will be provided.

We suggest you spend around 15 - 20minutes on this survey.
