Your Voice is Important!
Home care is an essential program for creating an environment of equity, dignity, inclusion and survival for those Albertans who need caregiver support in their day-to-day lives. As an alternative to direct service from caregiver agencies, programs such as Self-Managed Care empower people with disabilities to independently manage their care, resulting in greater flexibility in terms of scheduling, caregiver choice, travel and more.

Alberta’s strong economy contributes to the province’s low unemployment rate, resulting in many Albertans with disabilities experiencing difficulty hiring and keeping caregivers. Canada’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program and the Live-in Caregiver Program have therefore proven beneficial for Albertans with disabilities in finding and maintaining adequate care. The Temporary Foreign Worker Program was recently overhauled in various areas including fees, requirements for advertising and rules governing room, board and travel costs.

Please fill out the questionnaire to help us gather information important to people with disabilities who use the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. Any personal information gathered is confidential and will not be shared with any organization, government department or regulatory body. The results of the questionnaire will be summarized and used by ADF for education and public awareness. Your participation is anonymous and there are no costs or risks to you. It will take 5-10 minutes to complete. Your participation is greatly appreciated!
