About the peer review team

The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is the leading organisation in Australia for healthcare professionals with a special interest and expertise in diabetes care and education.

The Australian Diabetes Educator (ADE) is a quarterly publication for ADEA members with the intention to increase knowledge and promote best practice in diabetes education and care and better management of people with diabetes. To achieve these goals, the ADE publishes a range of article types including original peer-reviewed research and scholarly work that contributes to the development and understanding of all aspects of diabetes education, care and management.

ADEA invites expression of interest from health professionals to join the peer review team to provide clinical comments on articles submitted to the Australian Diabetes Educator publication. 

The reviewer will work with the ADE Editorial Advisory Group to ensure the high-quality content of the publication is produced. For more information and process, please download and read the Peer review guidelines

Members of the peer review team are expected to have the following qualifications: 
  • Current or recent involvement in research and other experiences relevant to diabetes education practice
  • Understanding of the process of peer review
 
When reviewing an article, the reviewers should:
  • Remain focus on the research work and be objective in evaluating the papers
  • Work towards a strict deadline
  • Maintain confidentiality of the process and content
