Rheumatology Research Workshop 2026: Call for Abstracts!

The ACR is now accepting applications for the 2026 Rheumatology Research Workshop that will be held in person, Thursday, June 25 and Friday, June 26, 2026. This two-day, invitation only, in-person workshop offers an intensive program designed to advance the careers of emerging rheumatology researchers.

This workshop is designed for young investigators seeking to strengthen their research skills and build meaningful connections within the rheumatology research community. Sessions will focus on aspects of career development including grantsmanship, mentorship, scientific communication, developing a research team, and more. Attendees will present their research, including projects in progress, during poster sessions during which they will receive feedback, and will have time to network with other junior as well as senior investigators.

The deadline to submit an abstract is Friday, March 13, 2026 11:59 PM ET.

Preliminary findings or proposals for fellowship research projects are encouraged.

Target Audience
This meeting is designed for:

A medical student interested in rheumatology research
An internal medicine, family medicine or pediatric resident enrolled in a ACGME- or RCPSC-accredited training program who is interested in rheumatology
A fellow-in-training at an ACGME- or RCPSC accredited training program
A graduate student interested in rheumatology research
A postdoctoral fellow who conducts rheumatology-related research
A junior faculty member within six years of completing their rheumatology or postdoctoral fellowship training program (completed after May 2020).

All participants must be an active ACR/ARP member prior to application submission

FIT Scholarship Eligibility
Trainee applicants may be eligible for a $750 travel scholarship to attend this meeting. Eligible candidates are (1) medical students and residents/fellows enrolled in an accredited training program who are interested in rheumatology and (2) graduate students who conduct rheumatology related research. Scholarship candidates must also be an ACR or ARP member in good standing to be considered.
