Thank you for participation in this survey. The objective is to capture information regarding the Safety Risk Management (SRM) processes used at airports; in particular the experiences of airports having convened and/or participated in Safety Risk Assessment (SRA) Panels.
Who should complete the survey? Any airport, regardless of size, complexity of operations, ownership, or status of a Safety Management System.
· For airports unfamiliar with SRM or not having participated in SRA panels, we ask that you answer five short questions. Your responses will help the research team gauge the exposure to the concepts throughout the industry.
· For airports having convened, conducted, and/or participated in SRA panels, the survey should take approximately 10 to 12 minutes to complete … perhaps a little more if you are willing to provide us with explanatory information regarding your responses.
For the purposes of this survey, please consider that the terms SRA panel and SRM panel to be synonymous. Additionally, there are other acronyms used in the survey with which you are likely (but may not be) familiar. The acronyms are as follows:
· AAAE – American Association of Airport Executives
· ACI – Airports Council International
· FAA – Federal Aviation Administration
· ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization
· SMS – Safety Management System
· SRA – Safety Risk Assessment
· SRM – Safety Risk Management
Again, thank you for your participation in the survey and your support of ACRP research. Should you have any questions about the survey, please contact the lead researcher:
