2030 Parks Master Plan Update Community Survey Part I: Introduction The City of Atlantic Beach is updating the 2030 Parks Master Plan, which is a 10-year vision for the City’s parks system. By developing recommendations and action plans that improve and maintain the City’s parks, trails, and recreation facilities, the Plan helps the City continue to provide quality recreation – active and passive -- to the community. Since the Master Plan was completed in 2020, there have been changes in demand for park amenities. As such, this update to the Master Plan creates an opportunity to take a fresh look at the parks system and ask the community to share their thoughts, opinions, needs, and desires for the future of Atlantic Beach parks.Below, please provide your recommendations for improvements to the 18 City of Atlantic Beach parks and beach accesses of your choice (for this exercise, beach accesses are not listed separately), along with your suggestions for park programming. What is programming? Programming includes educational programs, recreational activities, and cultural events that help make parks more accessible and inviting to everyone while connecting people to nature, new skills, and loads of fun. Educational programs: Nature walks, birdwatching classes, gardening workshops, and astronomy programs are examples of programs that can help people learn about the natural world and appreciate the importance of parks. Recreational activities: Sports leagues, fitness classes, and storytime for children are examples of activities that can help people stay healthy and active, and they can also provide a fun way for people to socialize and connect with their community. Cultural events: Concerts, festivals and art shows are examples of events that can help enrich the lives of community members and promote cultural diversity. Questions?
