Re-designing Leadership: To Get Her There, What Will It Take?
Reflections on Girl Scout Research
Thank you for reviewing and reflecting on Girl Scout research data.
Please keep in mind that …
1) Girl Scout processes work: Girls who gain experience solving problems & seeking challenges in Girl Scouting are more successful in school than girls who gain less experience in these areas.* 2) Adult –girl partnerships work: When troop leaders** see girls as a group plan & carry out projects in partnership with adults, the leaders also tend to see girls a) set goals, b) exercise/do sports/dance, c) talk problems out instead of yelling and d) know people they can talk to about community needs. 3) Organizing matters: Girl Scout service delivery is defined as the way in which a council organizes and manages its resources so that the Girl Scout leadership experience can be delivered.
