Hi, my name is Gary Peterson. I have been your Chief of Police since December of 2010. In 2008, we surveyed the community regarding the services we provide and got nearly 600 responses. This time, we are hoping for a larger response. If you are reading this message, you are concerned about our community and should complete this survey. Additionally, please encourage your friends, family, neighbors, social clubs, civic clubs and members of your church to go online and complete this survey.
In 2011, the department introduced the Neighborhood Policing Area (NPA)initiative. This approach calls for a police officer to be responsible for a specific geographic area of the city, known as a neighborhood policing area or NPA.
There are 24 NPA's. Your specific area and police officer can be found on the police page of the city’s website under the NPA tab.
Our focus has been on customer service and developing relationships, so we can face the challenges in this community together. We believe that the community has the best insight on how to solve neighborhood problems. We work for you and value your input on how you want your community policed.
We intend to use this survey to ensure that the community's priorities are reflected in our goals and objectives. The results of this survey will be presented at community meetings at the completion of the survey period.
