2016 VSBPE Rule Revisions

The VSBPE takes seriously its charge to create rules that govern the training, licensing and professional standards of teachers and administrators. The proposed rule revisions support the VSBPE’s mission in several ways. Specifically, the VSBPE is:

1.      Removing rules pertaining to clinical licensure of Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists per legislation No. 38 § 39 – effective September 1, 2015 clinical license responsibility moved to Secretary of State’s Office of Professional Regulations

2.      Revising rules regarding recent changes to Vermont’s NASDTEC Interstate Agreement – license for license acceptance with participating states

3.      Removing Praxis Core requirements for endorsement areas for educators employmed in areas that are not considered teaching experience (e.g. school nurse) – Rule 5246

4.      Revising substitute rules – Rule 5380

5.      Clarifying requirement for temporary license – Rule 5355

6.      Adapting authorizing statements for several endorsements
