Thank you for your interest in the Michigan Chapter, SCAA! In order to best serve our community, offer support to those affected by Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and work together to improve outcomes from cardiac arrest, please answer these questions.
SUMMARY: Our SCAA Michigan Chapter has been meeting since March 2012! We have shared several survivor stories, brought in speakers to discuss the "state of cardiac arrest in Michigan", and brought in experts from various fields, including brain injury, speech/language pathology, electrophysiology, to name a few.
We also discussed the acute need to recognize the potential for latent survivor challenges, including physical, emotional, and cognitive.
We have met face to face about every 2 months since 2012. We have walked as a small group in the Detroit Michigan Heart Walks. We were plagued by the weather in Feb 2014 but still had a full room of people for the meeting!
UPCOMING: We will hold our next meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at 7pm, likely at William Beaumont Hospital. We look forward to seeing you there!
