"Supplemental & ELO Funding" Explanation

Due to your willingness to complete the Titan School Lunch form in the fall of each school year, CORE has historically been able to gain access to a significant amount of State Supplemental funding each year.

This Supplemental funding is based on the information the school requests on the Titan lunch form regarding potential eligibility for "Free and Reduced Lunch."  This data is the basis for the supplemental funding, if at least 40% of CORE Butte students are eligible for free or reduced meal prices.

Supplemental funding will continue to come to CORE only as long as an average of 40% of our students are identified in this group.

The school allocates these funds through our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) incorporating stakeholder priorities and feedback.  Supplemental funding is used to support student academic progress and help build a positive school culture.

Due to Covid, this year, the school will also be receiving an Expanded learning Opportunities (ELO) grant intended to help the school implement a learning recovery program.  Allowable expenditures for the ELO grant are identified in statute.  The school would like to gain stakeholder input on priorities for implementing a learning recovery program.

This survey is an opportunity for families, staff, and constituents to identify the areas of need so that funds are utilized in a way that supports CORE Butte's goals.
